Scooterlife story

The story began in 1990 when the twins, freshly graduated from high school, went for a motorcycle tour across Europe on their Jawa 350 Twin Sport. They rode through Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France and Germany. On the way back, they decided to start their own business with pre-owned Japanese motorcycles.

The company Powerbike was founded in 1997 as a motorcycle workshop. At that time, Powerbike was one of the first Hungarian workshops that was daring enough to undertake the repair of Japanese bikes. To obtain professional expertise, they spent two seasons at the Nippon-bike workshop in Vienna as mechanics. The legendary tuning master and superbike guru, Bruno Siegl, gave them good peaces of advice, and his mentorship accompanied them later on in their professional journey.

The next stage of professional development took place in the United States. In the 2000-2001 season, András was working for Honda Nault,- the largest Honda dealer in New England. Later in 2002, he worked for New England Performance, who’s  manager was  the famous Pat Doyle, drag race and engine building guru.

Meanwhile Peter was working hard at home in Hungary, founding their first store with an Austrian partner, Michael Weithofer.

In 2003 the twins were working together again, distributing German riding gears, such as Germas, Redbike, Cima-Schlier, and the British Bike-it products, in Hungary.

In 2005 new brands and products were added to the repertoire, such as Nitro, G-Mac and Vemar helmets.

In 2006-2008,  new prestige brands expanded our product range: Momo Design helmetsCoocase box systems and Baas electronics (battery chargers and automatic control systems).

2009-11, the twins won the exclusive Hungarian distribution rights of the sought after Italian products  - Italian PremierMRobert helmets, Stylmartin boots and Biondi accessories  - from the European Rousseau Distribution.

More brands that Powerbike exclusively distributes are: Macna riding gears, IDI helmets, Booster Products, and Raleri full time visors.
